Last Thursday June 4th 2009, Dune Lake played another cracking gig to a bombastic crowd at The Ladywell Tavern in Lewisham. The audience were literally falling out through the doors, when they weren't gripped to the vibe on stage, or soaking up the fantastic atmosphere in The Ladywell Tavern.
There's a few cool people that need to be mentioned that helped to make this such a great night. Brockley Jon did an excellent job organising the music on behalf of the Brockley Central blog which made a huge contribution for drumming up such a great audience for this event.
Dave Loughlin and Sophie Gardner played as Dune Lake with Ben Singer - not only providing the final music of the evening with this intimate three person line-up - but they also looked after the
sound for all the acts in the evening and provided most of the sound equipment as well. Thanks goes out to Monty the landlord for maintaining such a great space for the event to take place in, keeping a top notch bar and dishing out the most delicious food by far out of any pub that could be found in the surrounding area.
All the acts did a great job of keeping the crowd up for it all night. Playing before Dune Lake
were: Louise & Irene, Skinny Lister and Rob Marr. There was some cool double bass playing, impressive piano antics, and unusually two of the bands that both used a Lap Slide guitar and in very different ways!Dune Lake are returning to The Ladywell Tavern this Thursday 11th June to present the Open Mic Acoustic Session. Keep the vibe flowing and come join them again for what's set to be another slap-up evening.
The Dusty Jellyfish.
